Quick post... I made Chili last night and fell asleep early. DH didn't put it in the fridge from the crock pot and I woke up this morning and it was still there. Is it ruined?

When in doubt, throw it out. See that? I just made a rhyme! ;)
Hi Melissa: I have this obession with food safety, I am always afraid to eat anything that has sat out for 2 hours or longer, and I throw leftovers out at the 3rd day. I wouldn't want to take a chance on getting sick eating the chili. But my daughter's mother in law does it all the time and never gets sick. I think if I were you, I would start over. Ginger
I kept the Chili but will not eat it until I boil it tonight. Hopefully any bacteria will be killed. I'll let you know if I'm puking over the weekend. ha ha :-)
Hello all. I recently moved back home to Arizona from the Midwest to be closer to my parents and reconnect with my old friends. I love cooking and working out. I do miss having a home of my own but feel in time good things are in store for me.

Hmmm, I think I would throw it out.
Hi Mellisa... I would be leary of it... But if it stayed warm most of the night it may be ok... Not worth taking a chance... Sorry...

There's yes and no on that subject here. Interesting reasoning behind both. Most say eat it.
